Thoughts and feelings are neither good nor bad.
Jason Satterfield, PhD
Thoughts and feelings are either helpful or harmful.
I am eager to provide educators with conscientious, intentional curriculum materials and consulting services. I have created educational content for Teachers Pay Teachers, Study.com, IXL Math, GeoGebra, Academic Learning Services, and more.

In addition, I have developed the pilot Mental Math lesson, which helps students:
> “Recognize how I think, feel, and act when confronted with difficulties in math.”
> “Learn and practice healthy and productive ways of dealing with difficulties in math.”
Mental Math has been successfully implemented with high school and college students and in both virtual and in-person settings.
Our article “Mental Math” covers the background, procedure, results, and implications of a trial of an online version of Mental Math with high school students. The article has been submitted for publication and the manuscript can be read via the button below.

Looking for professional development resources? I can present on:
> Thoughts, feelings, and actions: Building coping skills and promoting mental health in the classroom.
> Mathematical etudes: Enhancing math fluency with thought-provoking exercises.
> Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI): Writing and speaking with appropriate and respectful language.
I hope that you leave this assignment feeling like you just left the gym: tired, but satisfied at having built up your mental strength and skills.
